The Fragments That We Lost is based on Nietzsche's simple, yet complex philosophical concept——Eternal return..Nietzsche hypothesizes that our time is infinite, but our energy is finite. This is consistent with the law of conservation of energy. Our lives will be repeated over and over again, because energy is always the same energy, but the energy keeps moving forward in time. It means that what we experience today will be repeated. Over and over. People we know will be known again. The pain we feel-- the pleasure we feel-- will be repeated continuously. Over and over.
