Artist Statement: Throughout my life, art has brought me peace and fulfillment which has shown me a better understanding of acceptance, love, and appreciation in life. When I finally began to feel like what I was creating was making me feel deep fulfillment and enjoyment, all my art became fully my own, for me. I don’t create for other people; I create for myself, my brain, and my body. With the absence of pleasing others involved when creating, people are affected by what you are creating because it is so uniquely your own. Although there are overwhelming amounts of talented artists with similar mindsets to mine, mine is my own and no one can take that away from me. When everyone creates their own art, they are inspired to do so by someone or something that they have experienced at some point in their lives. They may have visually experienced this or physically or mentally, or even spiritually. The concept of creating what you truly want and being able put out into the world so people can understand you better is the purpose of art is all about. But how do I know that what I am creating is the best version of what I can create? What does my art do for others?
