Artist Statement:

Couture Fashion is a way that clothing can become unique to the wearer in terms of expression, but also fit. While creating this collection it was important that I make each piece personalized, but also create a cohesive body of work. I was able to design each piece so that it was distinctive and special each person. This takes into consideration many aspects such as body type, height, skin tone, hair color, etc. The eye-catching fabrics used along with elements such as bows, frills, and flowy fabrics create dimension and interest in the fabric for each piece and make them personalized to the wearer. These varying elements that come together as a collective body of work, highlight the differences between the pieces and how they are unique but also their similarity and relationship to one another.
